  TEMPORARY DANGER AREA (KEEVIL) - MINISTRY OF DEFENCE TRAINING, WATCHKEEPER, 6 May 2021 to 4 August 2021

Between 6 May 2021 and 4 August 2021, the Ministry of Defence are required to conduct training with the use of Watchkeeper Remotely Piloted Air System (RPAS). This training is essential in ensuring the capability remains ready to respond to operational requirements, including operating from less established airfields. Watchkeeper will operate from Keevil Aerodrome and operate within Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA).
As Watchkeeper will be operating Beyond Visual Line of Sight and does not have a Detect and Avoid capability, a Temporary Danger Area (TDA) will be established sponsored by the Ministry of Defence to enable arrivals and departures of Watchkeeper at Keevil Aerodrome and transit of said RPAS to the established Danger Areas associated with SPTA.
As above, the TDA is sponsored by the Ministry of Defence in accordance with Airspace Change reference ACP-2020-047.
The TDA will be notified for activation no less than 24 hours prior to the planned flights. Planned activated are Monday to Thursdays 1000-1730 (0900-1630) and Fridays 1000-1400 (0900-1300). These timings may vary due to training requirements and weather.

DANGER AREA WILL BE NOTIFIED BY NOTAM

EG D198
When required between 6 May 2021 and 4 August 2021, a TDA is established within the area bounded by straight lines joining successively the following points:

  8. 511646N 0020418W;

  9. 511619N 0020555W.

Within EG D198, a Danger Area Crossing Service (DACS) will be available from Boscombe Down on frequency 126.4 MHz (Boscombe Zone).
The TDA is established between surface and 3500 FT AMSL.
Further information regarding a DACS can be found within UK Enroute Information ENR 1.1 – General Rules.
Aircraft who require access to the TDA for the purpose of landing at private sites within the TDA are requested to contact Watchkeeper Duty Ops at 07973-727040 or Keevil Radio on 129.980 MHz for coordination and deconfliction.
10 Further enquiries can be made to Airspace Regulation (Utilisation), Safety and Airspace Regulation Group, Civil Aviation Authority on telephone number 01293-983880.
11 As part of the ACP process requirements, the Ministry of Defence is collecting feedback regarding this TDA and its impact over its duration which will be shared with the CAA. All feedback regarding this may be sent via email to 47RA-WK-Ops@mod.gov.uk.
