EGBO  AD 2.20  LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1  Airport Regulations
  1. Pilots are responsible for their passengers whilst airside at this aerodrome.

  2. High visibility clothing is recommended airside.

  3. Non-radio aircraft are not permitted to operate outside of published hours. During published hours all non-radio flights are to be approved by ATS.

  4. All movements outside of published hours are subject to the out of hours conditions published on the airport website.

  5. During winter hours night flying can take place on Thursdays until 2100. Intended Night Flights are subject to PPR which must be notified no later than 1630 on the date of flight.

2  Ground Movement
  1. Fuel Bay operates a one-way system, entry at west end, exit at east, aircraft to draw up with pumps on starboard side.

  2. Pilots must moderate taxiing speeds on Taxiway A. This is due to undulating surfaces and between A4 and the Fuel Bay due to the possible presence of pedestrians in this area. Special caution must be exercised in the area adjacent to the tower where there is a marked crossing area.

3  CAT II/III Operations

4  Warnings
  1. Runway 16/34 lights may be illuminated outside ATS hours for police helicopter operations.

  2. Helicopters are not to hover within 50 M of DME/NDB masts, which are situated northeast of the eastern apron.

  3. Runway 16/34 shallow depression on eastern edge of runway close to Runway 34 PAPIs will hold water after rain. Runway 16/34 shallow depression crosses the runway north of Runway 34 threshold.

  4. View from A5 Hold restricted. Care to be taken when entering/crossing Runway 34.

  5. No instrument approaches are to be flown at anytime.

5  Helicopter Operations
  1. There are three designated helicopter pads marked 1, 2 and 3 at the fuel bay.

  2. Helicopters taxiing to the fuel pads are asked to operate their aircraft so as to minimise the effect of their downdraft on the nearby hangars.

  3. Wheeled helicopters requiring fuel can expect to be instructed to land on Taxiway A to the south east of the fuel bay and then ground-taxi to fuelling pad No 3.

  4. Rotors running refuelling is not permitted.

  5. Hovering helicopters shall maintain a distance of 60 M from any active runway or taxiway except with AFIS approval.

6  Use of Runways
  1. Only Runway 16/34 is licensed for night use.

  2. Runway 04/22 use restricted to non-jet aircraft weighing not more than two tonnes.

EGBO  AD 2.21  NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

  1. All departures from Runway 16 will maintain runway track for 600 M to psn *523029N 0021510W, abeam Highgate Farm, as a minimum distance before turning into the fixed-wing circuit pattern or en-route as required. This is to avoid flying over the Highgate Farm complex, which is to the left of the runway on departure.

  2. No FANSTOP (practice engine failure after take-off) on Runway 34 until past Whittimere Farm (*523152N 0021550W, 1000 M beyond end of runway or 1 DME WOL). This is to avoid Whittimere Farm, which is to the right of the runway on departure.

EGBO  AD 2.22  FLIGHT PROCEDURES

1  Circuits
  1. Fixed wing circuits are LH at 1000 FT QFE.

  2. Helicopter circuits are RH at 800 FT QFE.

  3. Use of multiple runways is to cease when more than two aircraft are in or call to join the visual circuit. In this situation all aircraft should revert to the published runway. Any approaches to the non-published runway is then limited to one approach only with no mixed multiple circuits permitted. All aircraft are to revert to the published runway if any of the aircraft are student pilots or an emergency is declared. If Runway 16/34 is being used for a larger aircraft then it shall become the published runway until that aircraft has landed or departed the ATZ.

  4. Autogyros are to fly the standard fixed wing circuit pattern and profiles. Pilots of autogyros are to prefix their callsign with 'Gyro' and be aware that they can be hard to see and that additional transmissions may be required to confirm their position and intentions to other aircraft.

2  Joining
  1. The standard fixed wing join is overhead. Aircraft should not descend below 1300 FT QFE on the deadside due to the helicopter circuit below at 800 FT QFE.
