18 EGHK AD 3.19 LOCAL HELIPORT REGULATIONS

GROUND MOVEMENT

  1. Helicopters may not be ground taxied. Movements between the hangar, apron and helipads are to be carried out by towing.

HELICOPTER OPERATIONS

  1. Helicopters will primarily be operated on the Scheduled Service to/from the Isles of Scilly by Sloane Helicopters Ltd. Other flights may be carried out for maintenance, positioning or by emergency services helicopters on a strictly PPR basis. All visiting pilots are to obtain a verbal briefing (telephone) from Penzance Heliport Operations (01736 780950) on the flight paths required to conform with the Heliport Local Authority Planning Conditions.

TRAINING

  1. Company helicopter training flights may be carried out in addition to the Scheduled Service.

19 EGHK AD 3.20 NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES

19.1  GENERAL

  1. Pilots are to avoid overflight of all local built-up areas as far as possible and are only to approach the heliport from the south over Mount’s Bay. Departures from Penzance Heliport should be routed over the sea, as soon as practicable after take-off.

20 EGHK AD 3.21 FLIGHT PROCEDURES

PROCEDURES FOR INBOUND AIRCRAFT

  1. Inbound aircraft are to call Penzance Radio (120.060 Mhz) at 5 Nm to obtain aerodrome information and weather. Helicopters are to avoid Marazion Nature Reserve (2 Nm to the East) and Penzance Town (2 Nm to the West) before routing over the sea to approach Penzance Heliport. The village of Longrock and St Michael’s Mount should not be overflown.

PROCEDURES FOR OUTBOUND AIRCRAFT

  1. Outbound aircraft are to conform to departure flight paths briefed to visiting pilots by Penzance Heliport Operations. All departures are to be routed over the sea, as soon as practicable after take-off.

CIRCUIT PROCEDURES

  1. Circuits are to be flown to the south of the Heliport only.

VFR AND SPECIAL VFR FLIGHTS

  1. All flights are to be conducted under VFR
