  RESTRICTION OF FLYING REGULATIONS - OLD WARDEN FLYING EVENTS 2020

A number of events for the general public will be held at Old Warden Aerodrome, Bedfordshire on certain dates between 3 May and 4 October 2020. A large number of aircraft will be involved in high-energy manoeuvres; therefore, the Secretary of State for Transport has decided that it is necessary to introduce Restriction of Flying Regulations under Article 239 of the Air Navigation Order 2016.
Subject to paragraph 4, on the dates and times listed in paragraph 3, no aircraft is to fly below 3,500 FT AMSL within the area bounded by:
  1. the clockwise arc of a circle of 3 NM radius centred on 520512N 0001907W from 520225N 0002056W to 520258N 0001553W; and

  2. a straight line between 520258N 0001553W and 520225N 0002056W.

The restrictions defined in paragraph 2 are established on the dates in column 2 between the times listed in column 3.

Paragraph 2 does not apply to any aircraft flying with the prior permission of the Flying Display Director at Old Warden Aerodrome who may be contacted on telephone number 01767-627918 or 07875-028876.
In relation to paragraph 2 the term ‘aircraft’ includes aircraft as classified by Part 1 of Schedule 4 to the Air Navigation Order 2016. It also includes, by virtue of Article 23 of that Order, any small balloon, any kite weighing not more than 2 KG, any small unmanned aircraft and any parachute including a parascending parachute.
The times mentioned in paragraph 2 are Co-ordinated Universal Time (UTC) which is one hour behind British Summer Time.
